Offshore Platform Design Manager (opdm0625)

 As the Offshore Platform Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the complete engineering design lifecycle of a new Jacket Wellhead Platform (WHP) project. Your role will involve strategic leadership, technical oversight, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the successful delivery of FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) and Detailed Design phases.

Primary Duties:

Team Leadership & Project Execution

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design team of approximately 80 professionals, ensuring timely and high-quality execution of FEED and Detailed Design deliverables for a newbuild Jacket WHP.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture within the team.

Stakeholder Engagement & Contract Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between internal departments, third-party engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Negotiate and coordinate with senior engineering management to ensure all contractual obligations, technical specifications, and project milestones are met within budget and schedule constraints.

Technical Review & Approval
Review and approve key engineering documents including:

• Structural stability and fatigue strength analysis reports.
• Pile-soil interaction calculations.
• Material selection specifications and technical standards.

Provide expert guidance on structural integrity and compliance with offshore engineering codes.

Design Optimization & Quality Assurance

• Drive continuous improvement in design quality, technical safety, and cost-efficiency.
• Ensure all engineering outputs align with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and performance guarantees.

 Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in offshore platform design, with a strong focus on Jacket Wellhead Platforms and Jack-up production platforms.
• Proven track record of leading international offshore platform design projects through both FEED and Detailed Design phases.

Technical Proficiency:

• Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software such as SACS and Sesam GeniE.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools such as Aveva Marine (AM) and Tekla Structures.
• In-depth knowledge of offshore engineering standards and classification rules including API, AISC, DNV, ABS, BV, and ASME.

Additional Competencies:

• Hands-on experience in offshore jacket construction and installation is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of oil & gas process systems and offshore operational philosophies.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel internationally for project-related assignments.
