Report to the EIT Manager, Project Engineering Manager, or Engineering Department Manager based on functional requirements.
Design telecommunication engineering deliverables such as calculations, reports, datasheets, architectural block diagrams, layouts, and specifications.
Coordinate with other disciplines to provide input during interface checks, design development, and technical discussions.
Coordinate PDMS modeling, design review activities, and monitor the incorporation of review action points for Telecommunication Engineering.
Prepare telecommunication purchase requisitions and technical bid evaluations.
Prepare Telecommunication Material Take-Offs.
Perform vendor data review (VDR) and incorporation (VDI), ensuring timely completion.
Attend meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors as necessary.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Guide and develop junior telecommunication engineers.
Interact with System Engineering, Interface Coordinator, and others as necessary.
Advise Discipline Lead or Manager on requirements and skill levels needed for smooth execution of deliverables.
Provide telecommunication input during tender/bidding and prepare necessary deliverables.
Address site technical queries as necessary.
Key Qualifications:
Recognized degree in Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Automation, or an equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the Offshore Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or equivalent industry, specializing in Telecommunication systems.
Sound technical knowledge of all Telecommunication systems implemented in the Oil & Gas industry.
Thorough knowledge of Digital Troposcatter Radio, Digital Microwave Radio System, Broadband Radio System, Digital Multiplex, Fiber Optic Cable, CCTV, PA/GA System, PABX, VHF Radio Remote Control Console, Structured Cabling System, Trunk Radios, VHF-FM, VHF-AM, HF SSB radio, Non-Directional Beacon System, Weather Monitoring System, LAN, Collision Avoidance System, Personnel Registration System, EPIRB, RACON, Hotline System, etc.
Experience in EPCC/EPCIC projects and bidding for wellhead platforms, LNG, CPP, MOPU, Living Quarters redevelopment, Brownfield Rejuvenation, and onshore facilities.
Familiarity with ITU, GMDSS, SOLAS, IEC, ISO, and IMO standards.
